From an otherwise lame feature from the New York Times Magazine, the One Page Magazine, there is some advice for the day’s drinking from Mario Batali, the expert in all things consumed and alcoholic:
For election night, I have a drink strategy that accounts for late-night celebrating or disappointment. I start with wine at dinner. When the first returns come in, I proceed to shots of the bitter Italian digestivo category called amaro (I like Montenegro from Bologna). As each of the crucial swing states report, I drink a shot. When it comes time for Ohio, I suggest a double espresso if it goes your way or a double shot of grappa if it does not. Your morning will reflect the significance of those undecided voters.
